Infertility happens when a couple cannot conceive after having regular unprotected sex.
Infertility is a common problem affecting one couple in six. It can be defined as the incapacity to fulfill pregnancy after a reasonable time of sexual intercourse with no contraceptive measures taken. The evidence for changes in the prevalence of infertile is difficult to establish. This increase could be due to at least four factors: delayed childbearing, alterations in semen quality due to habits such as cigarette smoking and alcohol, changes in sexual behavior and eliminations of most taboos. The study of the infertile couples has always been focussed on different factors: ovulatory factor, utero tubal peritoneal factor, semen migration factor, and malefactor.
Infertility can be primary or secondary.
Primary infertility is when a couple has not conceived after trying for at least 12 months without using birth control
Secondary infertility when they have previously conceived but are no longer able to.
